MY FAVORITES: REVLON FOUNDATION REVIEW
Spring has arrived which means my makeup regimen has to change. I live in the south where the humidity has no mercy on my oily/combination skin. No one wants to be walking around looking like they took a nose drive in Crisco or look like Casper the ghost. I don't know about you but my skin needs air and I have no time to be caking on concealers, pressed powders, setting powders and highlighters just to go to work or hang out during the warm/hot months. I do love a beat face but I rather do all the extra stuff for special events such weddings, my monthly girl chats, or galas.
I am avid lover of Revlon lipsticks, nail polish and eyeliners, however; I have NEVER tried any other their foundations until recently. I have tried other drugstore brands in the past in which the shades for women of color were either too red/yellow, too oily or just plain hot mess. I'm in-between the spectrum so I was a little hesitant to try Revlon foundations believe it or not my, friends haven't tried their foundations either. I am trying to be frugal and save more, I was running out of my Becca Ever Matte foundation in the shade SIENNA and I refused to pay another $40 but I wanted a cheaper foundation that provider similar results for half the price.
The cost of the Revlon foundation was fairly inexpensive less than $10 for the 24 hour ColorStay #410. I've heard and seen tons of good reviews on YouTube regarding their PhotoReady Airbrush Effect foundation which cost a few bucks more. I'll purchase it later.
After purchasing the foundation I was hesitant as I feared a negative outcome. What if the color doesn't match? What if it does't cover up any of my blemishes? What if i break out? There were so many thought going through my head. Finally, I decided to just go for it, after all, I bought the foundation with the intentions of using it, RIGHT?
Here's my initial thoughts:
- The foundation come in a mess-free pump which allows for you to control the amount.
- The foundation comes in 35 shades for every skin tone and type.
- It does provide a flawless, matte coverage which felt light weight when applied to my skin.
- It's a build-able foundation that does feel or look "cakey."
- If definitely controlled the oil and my face was not left looking like I was swimming in baby oil.
- The foundation was easy to remove and did not clog my pores.
I received so many compliments from my friends and family after I wore the foundation to a family function. My mom who doesn't wear was impressed and said it was perfect match. Overall, Revlon CorlorStay is my new favorite to go foundation for Spring and Summer!
