Revlon is a brand I absolutely love. Some of my friends say it's for the "old" folks and I am not OLD. There have been a few of their products that I trashed but I love the formula used for the ColorStay brand. Since I haven't seen any commercials or many reviews from women of color on YouTube I had to test it out for myself.
Here's the tea:
This foundation was originally the ColorStay Whipped Crème that was removed from store shelves and repackaged. The original formula was only available in a few shades.
New Packaging
The foundation arrives in a 1 oz tube and cost $9-$14 depending on where you buy it.
Color Ranges
The foundation comes in 16 shades with 2 darker shades. The darkest shade is 420 Mahogany. Do not confuse the color range with the original ColorStay foundation because the colors are slightly lighter. I wear 410 Cappuccino in the ColorStay and I choose the darkest share 420 which was perfect match.
Texture
The foundation is creamy, similar to a mousse which blends well, leaving a flawless polished look. I have a lot of acne scars and the foundation hides it very well and it's lightweight.
Tools
I applied the foundation using a stippling brush and a damp beauty blender. Using both I notice the coverage was the same applies with either tool.
24 hour wear
Honestly there is not a foundation, no matter the cost, that will provide a flawless look for 24 hours. I have oily skin and the foundation dries semi matte. After wearing for about 5 hours I did notice a little oil in the my t-zone. Using a blot paper helped to refresh the foundation as if it was just applied. I live in Georgia where it gets extremely hot this foundation performed better than I expected. Most foundation can melt off your face and this foundation didn't. That's win for me!
Is it worth cost?
Yes, if you looking for an everyday makeup for the office or school. I would definitely recommend you try it.

FIRST IMPRESSSION: FLESH ART BEAUTY OG COFFEE SCRUB
I am hesitant to try new things. My motto: " If what you're doing is working fine, why change it." Recently I attended a party and received a gift bag filled with goodies.
I am hesitant to try new things. My motto: " If what you're doing is working fine, why change it." Recently I attended a party and received a gift bag filled with goodies. I was excited about some of the products I received. One of the products was the Flesh Art Beauty OG Coffee Scrub and I am a coffee lover. I did research and found a few interesting facts about the benefits of coffee as an exfoliant.
1. Reduces inflammation and packed with lots of antioxidants
Coffee is rich in polyphenols, that are found in foods such as chocolate, berries and wine. It slows down the aging process and helps soothe those pesky breakout.
2. Protects your skins
It's a great exfoliant that protects your skin, gives your skin of boost of energy that provides a natural glow
3. Brightens skin
Not only does coffee provide a natural glow, it also helps with restoring your skin and diminishing discoloration.
4. Reduces puffiness and dark circles
The caffeine helps reduce under-eye puffiness by restricting blood flow to the area and reducing swelling.
My Thoughts on using Flesh Art Beauty OG Coffee Scrub
The contents of the product was stored in a cute dark zipped sealed packet with the company logo and ingredients.
Ingredients (All Natural) -Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Coconut Sugar and Organic Ethiopian Coffee grounds. Immediately after opening the packet the aroma of the coffee will mesmerize your senses. Applying the the scrub was a little tricky, the content was slightly moist from the oils but not enough to rub into my skin without making a huge mess. I was able to apply to my skin after applying a very small amount of almond oil to the mixture. I scrubbed my face in circular motions for about 2-3 minutes before rinsing off, afterwards my skin felt extremely moisturized and soft.
I definitely recommend this product for anyone who loves a great scrub. The cost is $15 for a travel size (3oz) or $26 (6oz). I wish there was more information about the product and company. You can visit there website to purchase.

MY NEW TAPERED CUT!
I cut my hair a month ago and to some people it may not seem like I cut a lot off but I did! I had always wanted to cut my hair but I didn't have a clue on how short I wanted to go.
I cut my hair a month ago and to some people it may not seem like I cut a lot off but I did!
I had always wanted to cut my hair but I didn't have a clue on how short I wanted to go. After my father passed in August and dealing with the aftermath. I knew the exact style I wanted to achieved. I did not want to go super short but I wanted my hair short enough to do twist outs, coils, and wash-n-go's.
It was on a Tuesday night, as I stared in the mirror with scissors in my hand I begin to cut 3 - 4 inches of my hair off with no regrets. I did not utter a sound and with each snip I felt a huge burden lifted. It was all the dead weight my hair was carrying- split ends, no trims, dryness, neglect and so much more. I remember my mom screaming "What are you doing?" which motivated me even more to keep cutting.
After I achieved the desired look, washed, conditioned and styled my hair. I remember looking in the mirror feeling confident, sexy and motivated to conquer the world. It felt like my hair was stopping me from my full potential. I know that may sound weird but it's my truth. I have been on a rollercoaster ride taking photos and wearing more make-up. I feel more like myself more than ever and I am so in love with my hair.
I've been able to achieve long lasting twist outs and coils with minimal frizz. Getting ready in the morning has been so easy. Here are a few pictures of my new cut.

MY FAVORITES: 5 REASONS YOU SHOULD TRY THE MANE CHOICE
After trying several hair care products for a long period of time (90 days) and feeling cheated. I was a little skeptical about trying a new product but I am glad I choose The Mane Choice.
After trying several hair care products for a long period of time (90 days) and feeling cheated. I was a little skeptical about trying a new product but I am glad I choose The Mane Choice. My hair texture is type 4, very tightly coiled. NOT EVERY product on the market is suitable for the kinky, coily girl, DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE ladies! I'm sure you have experience the heartbreak of spending your hard earned coins on a product that doesn't work no matter what you tried.
I attended the World Natural Hair show in April, where everyone were passing out samples and conducting demonstrations on how to use their products. My focus was finding The Mane Choice booth were I could speak with one of the brand ambassadors. I wish I could remember the lovely female's name who was able explain and show a few products that would work for my hair texture.
During the summer months I like to wear wash-n-go's and I needed a clarifying shampoo and conditioner that would not leave my hair dry and brittle. Retaining moisture and manageability was a major plus in my decision making. I was shown two products:
Detangling Hydration Shampoo and 3-in-1 Revitalize and Refresh Conditioner
I have not tried their styling products and will purchase them soon to try and share my thoughts. Let's get into the reasons why I feel in love with this brand.
- The price point for this product is budget-friendly unlike some brands I've paid over $18. The Shampoo retails for $13 and Conditioner retail for $14. The products can be found in most major retailers such as Sally's, Wal-Mart and Target.
- A little goes a long way. The shampoo had a rich lather and I did not feel like my hair was being stripped, no product build up.
- The conditioner dissolved into my strands like butter making the detangling process (lack off) easier.
- The product does exactly what it says: instant hydration, manageability, minimum (none) breakage and moisture.
- The best part is the product promotes growth and retention.
Here's list of the ingredients:
Aqua (Purified Water), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Derived From Coconut), Cetrimonium Chloride, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Betula Alba (Birch) Bark Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Equisetum Hiemale (Horsetail) Extract, Celery Seed Extract (Apium Graveolens), Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Extract, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, Panthenol, Silk Amino Acids, Citric Acid, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Biotin, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend), Violet 2
Since I started using this product I will definitely say it's for all hair textures, it made the process of wearing wash-n-go's so much more easier to achieve. The Mane Choice will be one of my favorite product I will recommend for Type 4 hair.

ARE THESE BEAUTY TRENDS WORTH IT
We spend a ton of money and time to keep up with the latest trends. We are constantly bombarded with images of beautiful, gorgeous women with a snatched waistline and big perky boobs. It doesn’t help much to see celebrities who have given birth and their body snaps back to their pre-pregnancy shape. With the evolution of social media, everybody and their grandma haa a new beauty hack. As stupid as it may seem my dumbass tried some of them.
Makeup Primer
Recently I stated wearing makeup and I bought several brands both low and high-end products. At the end of the day, even with using an expensive primer such as Becca – Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. I would look like I’ve been swimming in fried chicken. My skin is acne prone and extremely oily and I needed a solution to combat the shine/natural glow. I noticed a lot of people raving about using Milk of Magnesia as a primer on social media. One female who said it worked wonders and she had before and after pictures to show the difference. I was amazed at how nice her make up turned out. I began to see other women raving about the effects and I decided to give that trick a try.
Let me tell you, after a few days of using the Milk of Magnesia as a primer I noticed my acne was flaring up. Not only did my face start developing these huge cystic pimples I was breaking out on my back! It got really serious for a moment where I was embarrassed to go out. At first I thought it was my diet until I picked up the bottle and read the ingredients. Using this was disturbing my PH balance allowing more bacteria in and clogging my pores. It does a good job at controlling shine but using it over time will create another problem.
Hair Hack
There is another beauty hack I tried. Your girl loves her wigs and the versatility it gives. I can be different women everyday of the week or even the same day. (giggles) Recently I started wearing lace closures and once I again I tuned into what everyone else was doing to make the closure lay flat. I tried was using Got2B Glued gel to hold down my closures on my wigs. It had my hair laid for the GODS but when I took off my wig my hairline would look like fish scales. The gel has a good hold but it is so flaky you will either need to wash your hair or wipe your edges with a damp cloth. If you are a natural like myself then you know we dread "wash" day. I know there are other alternative that works better, in the meantime I will stick to my Murray's edgewax and Eco styler gel.
